  • Hello!
Well I started school today.  I know that's late for TN and GA schools, but here we're starting about they same time everyone else is.  The homeschool kick off picnic is tomorrow.
I did fine accept for math, as always.

Little ones started school with Mommy also.  Samuel and Grace can read a little now.  Helen May while she was here for five weeks worked ALOT with them, and got quite a bit of progress on teaching them how to read.  She's left now, but Mommy has picked up where she left off.

Josh and Ben are back safe and sound, but not everything went as planned.
They got their black belts but near the end of the test Ben dislocated his shoulder.  It came out once, but went back in by itself.  But them later on it came out again, when he was stretching before sparring.  They had to take him to the emergency room to get his shoulder put back in place.  His arm is in a sling, but mostly to remind him not to push it.  He still got his black belt, and he and Josh still went to TN to visit friends before coming home.

Right now we have a bouncy energetic black thing that's trying desperately to push it's way into our family.  A black puppy showed up a couple of days ago and hasn't left.  Josh was the one to find her near our house and befriend her.  She loved the attention and stuck around. It was really hot so we gave her some water, and she was very thin and bonny so we had to give her some food!  So now she never goes far from our front yard.  She's maybe 5 to 6 months old.  She's a little bit smaller than Ebony, so she'll grow up to be bigger than Ebony.  Maybe a black lab, but not sure.  She seems so much smaller than a black lab even though she's a puppy.  Her head and paws aren't big enough.  She very sweet and just lives to get pet and attention.  She never nips even when she is playing.  But she's deffinatly a puppy.
She takes her food dishes and hides them, and takes her towels off the porch.  She's opened a chalk container and pulled all the chalk out, and got a broom and nocked over a flower pot.  (it just had dirt in it, not flowers)  Ebony and her are getting along ok, but they aren't buddies.
We're trying to find a home for her becaue Daddy doesn't want any more pets.  And because puppies are just alot of work, and we would have to train her.

We even called into a radio broad cast thing where you can announce lost and found pets and things for sale and such.  I do NOT want to take her to the animal shelter.  They put them to sleep after 7 to 12 days, or something like that.
She could be a wonderful pet.  A great companion for someone.

Well, I'll let you know what happens!
    Write later!

Hello everyone.  I know it's been forever!

Let me know if you can see my slide show.  I've been trying to put it on the site, but I can't see it yet.

Well, I have a wonderful room in the Yonder.  (that's our official name for the place that used to be called the garage.)  I have bookshelves for walls, but it's still very nice and pretty, and best of all it's MY room!

We're enjoying our pool.  Samuel can swim now under and over the water. (he can touch the bottom on his tippy toes)  Grace can swim, now too, but someone has to be next to her because she can't always come back up for a breath.  She does a good stroke and goes pretty quick, but she can't swim above water, and can't sometimes come up for a breath.  Um... that's a problem!

It's been SOOOO hot here!  That heat wave that is all over the place it very present here in Kansas.  It's been in the 100s about every day!  My body does NOT like it!  Right now I'm kinda' sick, but I'm still up and about.  Josh and Ben had been struggling with something, so they probably were good big brothers and shared it with me!

Speaking of Josh and Ben tonight they will be in Atlanta!  They are driving back to Georgia to take their black belt karate test.  This is a very big deal!  They have been working on this for 3 years.  It's a very hard thing, and the test lasts for hours, with little break.  It is a real accomplishment to make it through this school and get a black belt.  It's something that you have to really be disciplined to get, the instructors make you earn it.  They are wonderful Christian people, but they want you to do a good job, that's why this place has been so neat (and hard work) for Josh and Ben.  Their test is on Saturday, at 10:00 am.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

Helen May (Nana) is here!  She’s such a blessing, we’ve been looking forward to her visit!  She’s encouraging to all of us, not to mention very helpful.  She has taken on the huge task of picking up on were my mom left off, of teaching Samuel and Grace how to read.  It’s a big deal, and they are doing so well!  They have officially read their first simple book.  We’re surprised that Nana hasn’t run away during this process!

Last weekend we went to NE for a Damon reunion.  It was actually a 50th anniversary for my great Uncle and Aunt, but it was turned into a reunion.  They little ones got to meet a lot of new people again!  So they have met lots of people from both sides of the family now.

Well the hair stylist is enjoying her job much more these days!  Mercy’s hair is now about an inch long if you stretch it out, and I’ve cornrowed it 3 different times.  (cornrows are like French braids, accept much tinier and you braid under, not over)  It’s still tiring because it takes all day to do hair, but I’m getting better at it, so it’s not as stressful.

My good friend Shauna Donovan and her family stopped by our house on their way back to TN!  It was awesome to see her again even if it was a brief visit.  We climbed up my big tree in the front yard and had a nice chat.

I'm very happy to say that I already have some very good friends here in McPherson, thanks to the Shaw family.  They are family quite like us. (they home school, are refreshingly conservative, have lived over seas for a lot of their life) I especially like to spend time with Christine and Amanda. (They are twins and are 17 yrs. old)  They are wonderful Godly young ladies!

Have to go figure out what’s wrong with the slide show.  Please write!

  • I'm in Kansas!

Hi everyone!  We're in our new house!  We've got a field on one side of us and some woods with a creek (it's dry most of the time though) behind a field with flowers and a apple tree and a pear tree. (we have an acre of land)  Oh, and we have a pool in our back deck.  Needless to say we love our land that our house sits on!  So far I'm am really enjoying McPherson Kansas!  People have much more time for each other here.  All sorts of people stop by just to say hello, and we have all these cousins that I didn't know existed. (grown up cousins) a man stopped by at our house to invite us somewhere, when he could have just called.  People just think different.  Ben and I went for a bike ride last evening on the dirt road in front of our house.  Got to see a pretty sun set, but every evening there is a pretty sun set here, because it's so flat.
Well, besides all the fun stuff that's here we are working very hard at making space for all of us in this house.
Have to get back to that work!  Talk to you all later!

  • Just a quick note!

Ok, just a quick note to let everyone know that I am alive!  But I will be falling dead here soon!  I'm just so pooped out!  First I was in NE for 6 weeks, then our family had a big family reunion in NE. (and I got a 100 degree fever) After that we went to Kansas where my dad has a job now, and we have bought a house there.  Then we drove (every time we drove to a different state we didn't stop for the night, we just drove through) to TN and to my delight got to see some good friends!  I was still kinda' sick though.  Then my mom kept getting sick just from exhaustion also.  We stayed their from Fri. to Sun, then on Sun. we drove back here!  And we've been working on packing our house to move ever since!  So, sorry for the lack on communication!  We leave for Kansas to officially move there in a week!  My dad is living with someone there already, but will be flying back here to help us pack, (and help us drive to Kansas) he will be here on Thurs.

That's just a brief summery of all that's going on!  Can't wait to catch up on everyone once life levels out!!!  I love you all and think about you alot!
